MACPASS Miles raises $2,000 for Canadian Mental Health Association

A child is given a medal at the finish line during MACPASS Miles 2023.

MACPASS Miles 2023 was not only a banner year for runner participation, but also the first year the Halifax Harbour Bridges event has raised money for a meaningful community partner.

For the first time, adult runners were charged a $10 registration fee, all of which was donated to the Canadian Mental Health Association – Nova Scotia Division, as part of HHB’s Key Partner program.

Thanks to the participation of those runners, HHB is proud to have raised $2,000 for CMHA (NS) to help with its mental health programming and supports.
HHB was happy to have volunteers on hand from the CMHA (NS) — to hand out medals to each runner who crossed the finish line.

This year’s winners were as follows:

Women’s: Eileen Benoit

Men’s: Jacob Benoit

Youth: Graham Sauer

Kids: Matthew Suddard

All race results can be found online at Race Roster.

Highlights from Bridgewalk 2023

The CHMA also joined the many community booths for this year’s Bridgewalk, giving out mental health support information and hearing stories from visitors to the bridge.

Other community partners who joined Bridgewalk 2023 were the Department of National Defense and 12 Wing Shearwater, the Ecology Action Centre and Bicyle Nova Scotia, Q104 and the return of the Ask An Engineer booth.

An estimated 5,000 people visited the Macdonald Bridge on Sunday, Aug, 6, taking in all of the entertainment, interactive booths and, of course, the stunning views.
