The MACPASS Mile is back: Can you conquer the Bridge?

January 13, 2022

It may not be the longest course in the province, nor feature that long hill that tests a real runner’s mettle, but the MACPASS Mile has a spectacular panoramic view of Halifax Harbour that you can’t find in any other race.

Open to runners and walkers of all ages and speeds, the one-mile MACPASS Mile returns on July 31 after a two-year hiatus. There will be four races beginning at 9 am. The races start on the Halifax side of the historic Macdonald Bridge and end just short of the Dartmouth toll booths.

Women: 9:00am

Men: 9:30am

Girls: 10:00am

Boys: 10:30am

“It’s not just a race; it’s an experience,” says Halifax Harbour Bridges CEO Steve Snider. “It’s a unique opportunity for runners to take in a harbour view they would rarely get an opportunity to experience on foot.”

As HHB is pleased to promote a healthy and active lifestyle, there is no entrance fee for 2022 runners. All COVID restrictions in place at the time of the race will be vigorously enforced to keep runners safe.

The Macdonald Bridge is a signature piece of architecture in heart of Halifax and the race is an opportunity to showcase its importance to the community.

Lace up your running shoes for fun and exercise, and come conquer the bridge on July 31, 2022.
